Technology Research Institute, systematically introduced the achievements of Shougang automotive steel in technological breakthroughs and industrialization during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Through continuous promotion of key technological innovations such as high strength and lightweight, high corrosion resistance and long service life, and low carbon and green technologies, Shougang automotive steel has become a best-selling product in the market, demonstrating the technological strength of domestically produced steel.

Shougang has achieved several breakthroughs in the field of automotive steel, successfully developing two major product series: "enhanced formability dual-phase steel" (DH steel) and "high-performance multiphase steel" (CP steel). The DH steel series was launched domestically for the first time, with an elongation at break of over 35% higher than traditional materials. This significantly reduces the risk of cracking in parts, reduces part weight by 10%, and lowers manufacturing costs by over 30%. It has been widely used by brands such as Beijing Benz and FAW Hongqi. The CP steel series fills the gap in domestic multiphase steel products and standards, successfully replacing imported materials and being used by well-known automakers such as BMW, achieving a leading market share.

To meet the carbon reduction needs of the automotive industry, Shougang Group has spearheaded the establishment of a low-carbon automotive steel product system, formulated relevant enterprise standards, applied for green and low-carbon trademarks, and promoted low-carbon product verification across multiple brands, setting a demonstrative example for collaborative carbon reduction across the entire industry chain.
