Jingye Huaxi Special Steel successfully developed the medium and heavy plate Q355ND.
Recently, Jingye Huaxi Special Steel Group successfully developed and mass-produced Q355ND medium and heavy steel plates. All performance indicators of the product meet the national standard GB/T1591-2018, and some key performance indicators have reached international advanced levels. This marks a significant advancement for the company in the research and industrialization of low-alloy high-strength structural steel.
This product covers thicknesses of 12-50mm and widths of 2000-2500mm, possessing excellent weldability, cold forming performance, and fatigue resistance. It can be widely used in high-end manufacturing fields such as construction engineering, bridges and tunnels, offshore platforms, energy equipment, and rail transportation.
Q355ND is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel with strictly controlled carbon equivalent (CEV ≤ 0.43%). Huaxi Special Steel adopts a "medium-carbon design + multi-element microalloying" process, continuously optimizing the composition system and rolling process through a collaborative sales, R&D, and production mechanism to achieve a good balance between strength and toughness. The product's measured yield strength is ≥365MPa, tensile strength ranges from 480-600MPa, and the impact energy at -20℃ is not less than 40J. Compared to conventional Q355D steel, its impact toughness is increased by approximately 20%, the hardness of the weld heat-affected zone is reduced by 15%, and the applicable temperature range is widened to -40℃ to 500℃, demonstrating outstanding environmental adaptability.
During production, the company applies advanced processes such as LF refining to ensure the cleanliness and uniformity of the steel's microstructure, further guaranteeing its service stability under extreme conditions.
