Henan Iron and Steel Group's Zhoukou Base recently achieved a breakthrough in overseas markets, successfully delivering its first batch of 1,000 tons of EH40/DH40 high-strength ship plates certified by Bureau Veritas (BV) to a Turkish customer. This marks not only the company's first overseas export of high-end products but also signifies a critical breakthrough for domestically produced high-strength ship plates in the international market. It provides valuable reference for the transformation of domestic steel traders under the new steel export licensing policy set to take effect in 2026.
The exported high-strength ship plates are primarily used in manufacturing core components for large container ships, demanding exceptional strength and toughness. Facing dual challenges of production line maintenance and ship inspection certification, Henan Iron & Steel formed a dedicated team to optimize the entire process flow, compressing the delivery cycle to within one month while ensuring all critical indicators met standards. Its robust compliance system also sets an export benchmark for the industry under the new policy.
For steel traders, this breakthrough sends multiple positive signals: First, it clarifies the transformation direction of “high-end + compliance,” guiding traders to connect with top-tier resources holding international certifications.
