From January to February, China's cumulative stainless steel imports totaled 267,300 metric tons, while cumulative exports totaled 492,700 metric tons.

According to the latest statistics from China Customs, in January 2026, domestic stainless steel imports totaled approximately 130,500 metric tons, a decrease of 10% month-on-month and 19.4% year-on-year. In February 2026, domestic stainless steel imports totaled approximately 109,200 metric tons (the lowest level for the same period in the past six years), a decrease of 16.3% month-on-month and 31.7% year-on-year. From January to February 2026, cumulative domestic stainless steel imports totaled approximately 239,700 metric tons, a decrease of 82,200 metric tons year-on-year, representing a 25.5% decline.

In January 2026, domestic stainless steel exports totaled approximately 232,600 metric tons (the lowest level since March 2020), down 52% month-on-month and 51.5% year-on-year. In February 2026, domestic stainless steel exports totaled approximately 260,000 metric tons, an increase of 11.8% month-on-month but a decrease of 5.5% year-on-year. From January to February 2026, cumulative domestic stainless steel exports totaled approximately 492,700 metric tons, a decrease of 262,700 metric tons year-on-year, representing a 34.8% decline.

In January 2026, domestic net stainless steel exports totaled approximately 102,200 metric tons, a decrease of 69.9% month-on-month and 67.9% year-on-year. In February 2026, domestic net stainless steel exports totaled approximately 150,800 metric tons, an increase of 47.6% month-on-month and 30.8% year-on-year. From January to February 2026, cumulative domestic net stainless steel exports totaled approximately 253,000 metric tons, a decrease of 180,500 metric tons year-on-year, representing a decline of 41.6%.
