CITIC Special Steel officially launches its low-carbon brand,

On September 9, 2026, CITIC Special Steel officially launched its low-carbon brand, "Special Steel Oasis," at the 2026 Conference on Low-Carbon Innovation and LCA in the Steel Industry Chain, an event co-hosted by the World Steel Association and CITIC Special Steel. Attendees included Edwin Basson, Director General of the World Steel Association; Li Yiren, Vice Chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association; and Wang Qi, Mayor of Jiangyin City. Luo Yuandong, Vice Chairman and President of CITIC Special Steel, and Wu Junping, Vice President, participated in the launch ceremony, which was moderated by Zhong Shaoliang, Deputy Director General of the World Steel Association.

"Special Steel Oasis" is a low-carbon brand created by CITIC Special Steel to fulfill its mission of "providing green, smart special steel for human civilization." It focuses on customer needs, adheres to international standards, and targets the global special steel industry chain. The brand is dedicated to delivering high-end, low-carbon special steel solutions that are scientifically sustainable, transparently traceable, and excellently customizable, driving high-quality development across the full life-cycle industry chain through cutting-edge innovation. Its overall framework is defined as "1+1+N"—comprising one blueprint, one pathway, and N product series—thereby linking the brand's vision, development trajectory, and value outcomes.

Among these elements, the "One Blueprint" strategy is guided by the overarching concept of "Green Manufacturing, Manufacturing Green," aiming to foster sustainable development through low-carbon technologies and pave the way for green growth via high-quality, low-carbon products. The "One Path" approach is grounded in the principles of scientific sustainability, collaboration, and innovation; it establishes a platform for collaborative low-carbon technological innovation across the industrial chain, aligning economic gains with carbon reduction, and balancing short-term results with long-term objectives. The "N Series" comprises multiple low-carbon product lines developed through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) research; these products are recognized by customers or outperform industry benchmarks, and are characterized by transparency, traceability, and quantifiable performance metrics.

At the event, CITIC Special Steel showcased a range of flagship low-carbon products, including ultra-clean, ultra-long-life, and ultra-high-load hub bearing steel; high-strength, wear-resistant, and highly reliable gears; ultra-clean, ultra-homogeneous continuous casting round billets with an extra-large 1,320mm diameter; low-carbon steel wire rods for critical automotive components produced via near-zero-carbon processes; high-strength, high-ductility non-quenched and tempered fastener steel for new energy vehicles; medium-to-thick-walled seamless steel pipes for high-strength, high-toughness drill pipe joints; and next-generation green, low-carbon, high-strength, and high-toughness petroleum pipes. Luo Yuandong presented certificates to the eleven enterprises that co-created these brands. Looking ahead, CITIC Special Steel will continue to join hands with global partners to build a "green oasis" of steel, establishing green special steel as a shared language connecting the industrial chain and enabling the world to share in green value.
